Maryland Addiction Recovery Center ownership is proud to announce the promotion of Maura Maguire to the new role of Director of Admissions. Formerly an Admissions Specialist at MARC, Maura will step into her new role as Director of Admissions replacing Molly Ashcroft. Molly, formerly MARC Corporate Director of Admissions and Development, has moved on to assume the role of Executive Director at Innovo Detox, the new freestanding state-of-the-art medical detox facility in Pennsylvania.
In Maura’s new role she will oversee the MARC admissions department and provide ongoing support and supervision to MARC intake specialists Amanda Winfield and Tim Holt. Additionally, she will continue to offer case management, admissions support, and referral resources to potential patients, family members, and professional referents for those in need of treatment for addiction, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and mental health issues.
“We are excited to have Maura step into the role of Director of Admissions and become part of the leadership team here at MARC,” said Maryland Addiction Recovery Center Executive Director Sam Bierman. “Since her first day here, Maura has demonstrated a dedication to being helpful to anyone that calls, a vital understanding of how admissions works as part of the whole treatment team, a talent for operations, and an overall poise in providing support for those individuals and families in crisis that are in need of services.”
Before she started at MARC, Maura worked as the Director of Client Services as a substance use disorder treatment facility in Bel Air, Maryland. In that role, she served as an important liaison between the rehab’s clinical staff and the residential staff. She also provided supervision and guidance to the employees working on the residential side of the facility. Additionally, she worked directly with clients and patients, providing the best possible care and support for them, as they began their journey of recovery from addiction.
As Director of Admissions, Maura will step into a role on the leadership team at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, working in collaboration with the clinical team, medical team, support services team, and business development team, while continuing to offer the high quality of admissions support she demonstrated as an Admissions Specialist.
When asked about her new role, Maura explained “I am extremely excited and thankful to be able to step into this important position within the team here at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center. We have an incredible admissions team here at MARC and I believe that someone’s first connection with admissions can shape their entire treatment experience. I am honored to be able to work with such an amazing group of people, and I look forward to being able to work closely with the members of the leadership team here to make sure that we continue to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and their family members.”
