Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, the leader in comprehensive addiction treatment in Maryland, is seeking to fill several day/evening Therapeutic Assistant positions. This position is to be an extension of the clinical staff, work directly with patients in treatment for dual diagnosis and substance abuse issues, support patients by forming strong relationships, implement clinical directives passed on by the clinical team, and coordinate care by identifying the immediate needs of each patient on an individualized level of care.

  • Experience working in dual diagnosis, mental health, and/or substance abuse field
  • Qualifications include knowledge of addictions, addiction treatment, and 12 Step recovery process
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
  • Ability to use basic computer skills and create clinical notation
  • Experience with EMR software a plus
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and clean driver’s license

Hourly pay plus overtime. Benefits include group health insurance.

Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, the leader in dual diagnosis addiction treatment in the Maryland area, is seeking to hire a full-time Primary Therapist for our extended care residential and intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment programs. Primary responsibilities include carrying a caseload for patients in the Community Living Treatment, PHP and IOP levels of care, conducting weekly individual sessions with patients on case, facilitating group therapy sessions, holding family therapy sessions, communicating internally with MARC clinical staff and coordinating care with any outside providers or referents. The MARC clinical philosophy centers around challenging patients pathologies through clinical inventions to give patients a sustainable corrective treatment experience, extensive ongoing family work and collaboration with outside referents and providers. Ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as work collaboratively with outside providers and referents is a must. The Primary Therapist works closely with the clinical team, Clinical Director, Executive Director and medical staff to systematically approach patients’ addiction, internal and external perceptions, behaviors, relationships and processes and offer corrective experiences that lead to long-term sustainable sobriety from substances as well as patient-centered levels of happiness and achievement of life goals and personal growth. Must be available to be a part of the on-call rotation. LCSW-C, LGCP, LMSW, LCPC or LGPC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or ADT required.
