The National Conference on Addiction Disorders (NCAD) will be holding its national conference in Baltimore, Maryland next week, from August 15th through August 18th. On its web site, NCAD East is listed as the premier provider of continuing education for addiction, behavioral, and mental health professionals. The purpose of the conference is to bring together professionals working in behavioral healthcare, creating educational content that will aid them in refining patient care as well as develop sustainable and successful treatment organizations.

 

The keynote speaker for the NCAD East conference will be Elizabeth Vargas, award-winning longtime anchor of ABC News. An outspoken advocate for those suffering from addiction and living in recovery, Vargas has shared her own story of addiction and recovery through the media over the last several years, as well as writing her memoir Between Breaths: A Memoir of Panic and Addiction, published by Grant Central Publishing in 2016 and a book that became an instant New York Times and USA Today bestseller.

Maryland Virginia Professional Liaison’s Association (DMV-PLA). Focusing on both executive leadership and marketing/business development, this presentation will look to define a basic outline for business standards and practices that all company employees understand and follow, outline basic concepts of an organization and how that translates to marketing/outreach representatives, and discuss and explain training methods used for business development professionals within an organization’s culture. Additionally, the presentation will look to identify standards and practices for both leadership and marketing/outreach professionals that translate from business development efforts into supporting best practices for patient care and safety.
