Maryland Addiction Recovery Center is proud to announce the addition of Louis DeSanto to the MARC team as our new Community Outreach Specialist. Based in the Philadelphia Main Line, Louis will be in charge of spearheading community and professional outreach efforts in the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding region.

Louis takes immense pride in every interaction he has, and I look forward to him becoming a trusted resource to other providers, practitioners, and members of the community.”
The role of the Community Outreach Specialist includes creating and managing professional relationships between MARC and local providers and healthcare organizations, engaging in efforts and initiatives to support local community organizations, and informing the local area of the comprehensive services offered by MARC to treat addiction and co-occurring disorders. Additionally, the MARC Community Outreach Specialist needs to be well-versed in local behavioral healthcare and recovery resources, so that they themselves can be an informed resource for individuals and families in need.
Louis is entering the behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment field as a person in long-term recovery. He graduated from Shippensburg University with a B.A. of Arts in Communications. Over the last several years, Louis was the Director of Business Development for an energy provider that serviced clients throughout the Northeast and Midwest regions. During that time, he prospected, developed, and managed relationships for the organization along with handling direct marketing responsibilities. After some time, Louis sought a career where he could transfer this skillset into a role that filled his passion and personal mission of helping others overcome addiction and find recovery.
When asked about his new role as MARC Community Outreach Specialist, Louis said, “I wanted to find a role where I could spend 100% of my time helping people find recovery. I am thrilled to join an organization rooted in a culture of integrity and clinically-sound treatment. When I started my personal recovery journey, I was not aware of what my options were. My goal as Community Outreach Specialist is to spread awareness of our evidence-based programs and be a resource for any individual or family in need.”
Outside of work, Louis is a diehard fan of Philadelphia sports teams and enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
