JOB: Therapeutic Assistant (TA)

Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, the leader in comprehensive dual diagnosis addiction treatment in the Mid Atlantic area, is looking to hire Therapist Assistants for their Community Living Treatment program. This position, similar to a behavioral health technician, is an extension of the clinical day staff and works directly with patients in treatment for dual diagnosis and substance abuse issues, supports patients by forming strong relationships, implements clinical directives passed on by the clinical team and coordinates care by identifying the immediate needs of each patient on an individualized level of care. Position reports directly to Director of Supportive Services. Experience working in dual diagnosis, mental health and/or substance abuse field not required, but a plus. Qualifications include knowledge of addictions, addiction treatment, 12 Step recovery process. Healthcare experience a plus. High school diploma or equivalent education Excellent verbal and writing communication skills. Ability to use basic computer skills and create clinical notation. Experience with EMR software a plus. Additional Job Responsibilities:

– Focus on programmatic areas with patients, such as personal management and life skills

– Facilitate activities, socialization skills, community involvement, and safety and health

– Monitor all patient progress/lack of progress on a regular basis and document/communicate the information to appropriate staff members

– Transport patients to MARC Clinical facility and/or outside appointments

– Be an advocate for all patients

JOB: Admissions Specialist

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for handling intake process with all new admissions, and handling incoming calls from potential patients (to include rotation in on-call schedule). Additionally, the Admissions Specialist will assist with making appropriate referrals to specialty and social services.

Job Responsibilities:

Complete intake screening paperwork on new admits; interview and evaluate patients and family members
Work directly with prospective patients and families
Answers Admissions Department phone calls and screen potential patients, making referrals as appropriate
Coordinate referrals to specialty and social services when appropriate
Identify factors which may interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from treatment
Maintain records and make written and oral reports concerning intake processes, referral reports, and billing reports
Prepare eligibility and benefits for new patients through insurance and 3rd party payers
Comply with company and department policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control, and comply with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies
Participate in on-call rotation for admission calls
