We are happy to announce that in November 2020, Maryland Addiction Recovery Center was granted a three-year accreditation from The Joint Commission. MARC received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, demonstrating that Maryland Addiction Recovery Center has met and continues to improve upon the key areas of patient safety and quality of care.

This accreditation from the Joint Commission, after an extensive review from their surveyor, is valid for up to 3 years (36 months) and was granted to MARC for all services surveyed under The Joint Commission’s Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services.

A national accrediting and certification organization, The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that is the United States’ oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. According to the organization’s website, “The mission of The Joint Commission is to continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value. Its vision is that all people always experience the safest, highest quality, best-value health care across all settings.”

Maryland Addiction Recovery Center received its initial accreditation from The Joint Commission in August 2017. This new three-year accreditation demonstrated that the MARC team has met, exceeded, and continues to improve on the accreditation standards set forth by The Joint Commission after the organization’s initial survey of MARC, its practices, procedures, and protocols. Spearheaded by MARC’s Director of HR and Compliance Dustielynn White and MARC Compliance Specialist Erin Kelley, this accreditation ensures that Maryland Addiction Recovery Center as an organization will continue to strive to meet and exceed and improve all patient safety and quality of care goals in order to effectively deliver high patient care for those suffering from addiction, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorders.
