Larry Smith

Larry Smith is the Medical Services Coordinator at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center. In his role, he is responsible for providing support and assistance to the MARC medical staff and medical department, patients, and their families. Larry ensures that MARC patients receive the best quality medical and psychiatric care and support throughout their treatment stay. He oversees scheduling for our medical providers, external scheduling for patients when they see an outside medical provider or specialist, as well as medical supply ordering, medical administrative tasks, maintaining patient medical record, and working to make sure internal communication is efficient and effective between the medical team and other departments within the organization.

Prior to MARC, Larry worked as an Internal Affairs Detective for the Baltimore Police Department. He started his employment at MARC as a Therapist Assistant (TA), working in direct patient care. He has also held the role of Weekend Evening TA Supervisor, where he managed the TA recovery support staff during weekend evening shifts. His primary goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for patients to feel heard and understood. In his free time, Larry is an avid reader and likes spending time at home with his cats.
