Jade Smith is the Integrated Clinical Specialist at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center. Jade first became part of MARC as a student while completing her practicum through Stevenson University. She focused her undergraduate studies on becoming specialized in substance use/mental health. Previously, she gained experience while completing her undergraduate degree at a local residential addiction treatment center as well as an outpatient mental health clinic. These experiences helped her gain immense understanding of what it means to truly provide individualized care. Having the opportunity to grow her knowledge base in various populations, diagnoses and approaches during that time, Jade continued her higher education and was introduced to MARC while engaging in her practicum, where she had worked closely with the MARC clinical team in co-facilitating groups, participating in both individual and family sessions, while simultaneously gaining a better understanding of our organization’s philosophy.
Jade began working at MARC in the role of Clinical Case Manager, where she worked with patients entering our vocational program to provide support in establishing a set schedule to address time management, organizational, communication concerns, and of course any other support that may be needed. Jade then stepped into her current role of Integrated Clinical Specialist. She continues to work with patients on case management initiatives but also spearheads the MARC vocational program. Jade supports patients as they enter the vocational phase of their treatment experience and clinical journey, helping them to reenter their careers or prepare for, find, and engage in active and meaningful employment. As our patients begin preparing for graduation, she works closely with them to create an individualized aftercare plan that aligns with both their needs and wants to ensure long-term sobriety.
She has a true passion for both helping those overcome their substance use struggles and working with this population. She believes in empowering individuals and supporting them to gain their independence back! In her free time, Jade enjoys continuing her education, being outdoors, traveling, giving back to the community, and spending quality time with her loved ones!
