DUI/DWI Education & Prevention in Maryland

DUI/DWI Education & Prevention in Maryland

DUI

DUI/DWI Education and Prevention classes are on of the several options for someone that is convicted of a DUI or a DWI in the state of Maryland. Often, depending on how many times a person is charged and/or convicted of a DUI/DWI offense, it will be suggested, mandated or required for that person to go into some level of care based on their level of need. One level of care for DUI/DWI offenders is a 12-Hour Alcohol Education (AEP) Program. This is twelve hours of education prevention. Often this takes place over the course of twelve weeks, at one hour per week. These classes should be taught by a licensed professional.

For those people that require a more intensive level of care, DUI/DWI education and prevention programs can be offered at 26 or 52 week timetables. Typically, these Alcohol Education (EAP) Programs are for those offenders that have had multiple DUI/DWI offenses. Often a lawyer will recommend to a client that they attend a longer program, or a judge will mandate that the offender take a classes for a longer period of time.

An even more intense level is a weekend program for DUI/DWI offenders. This is an entire weekend were those in need of DUI/DWI education prevention and/or treatment services will live at a facility from Friday night to Sunday, fulfilling whatever requirement that the local Baltimore City, Baltimore County or other court judge has placed on them. This is a much more intense level of care.

Maryland Addiction Recovery Center offers DUI/DWI Prevention & Education classes that meet all court requirements. We offer a 12-Week Alcohol Education (AEP) Program at our Towson, Maryland substance abuse treatment center location. For those in need of longer program, Maryland Addiction Recovery Center offers both a 26 week and a 52 week DUI/DWI Education & Prevention Program. We do not offer a full weekend program. We will assess and evaluated all clients from the insight of one of our licensed clinicians to determine the appropriate level of care, then work with the clients attorney and the court systems to provide the most acceptable, comprehensive level of treatment necessary to support recovery.
